And this is only the part you can see. The cooling coil and heat exchanger may
be fouled as well.
I have seen instances where the inside of the furnace looked like it had been
through a snow storm.
Drywall dust is a mineral. It makes an excellent abrasive for screwing up motors
and circuit boards.
